Association for preserving tradition of Serbia liberation wars until 1918

Concrete actions and projects which Association has achieved in 35 years of existence

From his foundation Association has renovated and built many monuments and memorial-landmarks from WWI, in country and abroad. Let’s itemize just few of them:

  • Restoration of memorial land-mark in Košutnjak on spot of Prince Knez Mihailo Obrenović downfall.
  • Restoration of monument to brave Serbian heroes in Košutnjak built by field marshal von Meknzen.
  • Restoration of memorial drinking-fountain 3rd drafters nearby City hospital.
  • Sanitization of church in village Rogači on Kosmaj. Inside is crypt with bones of famous hero from 1st Serbian uprising Janko Katić with his war mates.
  • Restoration of drinking-fountain in Mladenovac, dedicated to charity mission of women of Scotland in Serbia in 1915.
  • On Association initiative church of Nikolai Rajevski in village Adrovac at Aleksinac was renewed. Rajevski was killed as Russian volunteer in fight against Turks exactly on that place.
  • Association built bust of Duke Petar Bojović on New cemetery in Belgrade (Author Ljubiša Mančić).
  • Memorial plate was posted on house of Milunka Savić, Serbian heroine, and on suggestion of the Association street was named after her.
  • Association have posted bas-relief plates with characters of Serbian kings Karađorđević Petar 1st and Aleksandar 1st and also to French and Serbian army leaders on observation post from breach of Salonika battlefield, in Palatine park (now Pioneer park), in Belgrade (Author Ljubiša Mančić).
  • On the Association initiative, plate has been posted and monument built to defenders of Belgrade in 1915 on Danube quay.
  • Busts to dukes were raised: to Živojin Mišić at Belgrade fair and to Radomir Putnik at BIGZ, in streets which bear their names.
  • Plate with imagery of Duke Živojin Mišić is posted on building where used to be Vojodina the house (now Jugometal), in Deligradska street, in Belgrade (Author Ljubiša Mančić).
  • Plate to bearers of Karađorđe star was posted on church in Mirijevo (Author Ljubiša Mančić).
  • In cooperation with Serbian doctors’ society and Serbian academy in Toronto, Association has posted plate on Museum of Serbian doctors’ society to Canadian medical personnel. It is sign of thankfulness for healing and nursing of Serbian wounded warriors during the WWI (Author Ljubiša Mančić).
  • With Association financing and initiative, memorial drinking-fountain with plate to died Serbian warriors in WWI and WWII was revealed in village Štavice near Ljig.
  • Together with primary school ‘Duke Živojin Mišić’ from Belgrade, Association has built bust in schoolyard and posted plate on building in honor of this legendary army leader (Author Ljubiša Mančić).
  • Subsidiary of the Association from Stuttgart (Germany) has renewed monument to warriors of WWI in Gračanica, on Kosovo.
  • Subsidiary of the Association from Kruševac was initiator and promoter of building Monument to warriors from WWI.
  • Subsidiary of the Association from Ljig has raised Monument in their city to Colonel Živojin Bacić, famous hero from WWI.
  • Subsidiary from Pristina has participated in renewal of Serbian and French cemetery in that city.
  • As initiator and partial financier, Association has raised monument to Duke Živojin Mišić in Mionica near Valjevo.
  • Association has posted plate in Uzun Mirkova Street, on building of old Belgrade municipality duo to 200 year anniversary from French revolution – with information that Belgrade has been honored with Big French Cross as hero city in WWI. (Beside Belgrade, Šabac and Werden-France were also honored.)
  • Subsidiary of the Association from Stuttgart has renewed monument to Serbian soldiers in Ulm-Germany.
  • Monument to legendary Milunka Savić was revealed in Jošanica health resort, work of member of Association administration Ljubiša Mančić.
  • In cooperation with primary school “Duke Vojvoda Putnik” from Belgrade, Association has posted bas-relief plate on the building with imagery of this famous Duke (Author Ljubiša Mančić).
  • Association has partially financed building of the monument to Serbian warriors in Pinosava underneath Avala.
  • Subsidiary of the Association from Valjevo has renewed monument to squadron “King Milan” with financial help of the Association.
  • Subsidiary from Mačvanski Prnjavor along with Serbian Orthodox Church has participated in revelation of monument to King Aleksandar the 1st and to Dr. Archibald Rays in churchyard.
  • On Corfu, in village Gouvia, memorial plate was posted on place of Serbian army debarkation in 1916.
  • On initiative of the Association, in village Agios Matheos on Corfu, bust of shepherd Janis Janulis have been posted nearby his farm in which are laid bones of Serbian warriors and which he never cultivated. He left such a behest to his son too. Inscription says: “To son of glorious Helens- From people of Serbia”.
  • On Association initiative, Corfu municipality has reinstalled plate in Corfu theater about sojourn of Serbian army, King, Highest command, Government and Parliament in 1916 (plate remained undamaged after Italian bombardment in 1943 when building was destroyed).
  • On association initiative, including complete organization and financing, and in cooperation with Belgrade military museum, new museum was opened in 1993 about sojourn of Serbs from 19146 till 1918 on Corfu. Museum is placed in ‘Serbian house’. Big credit goes to Corfu mayor, Mister Hrizantos Sarlis and his associates from parliament of Corfu municipality. Author of museum postulate is Colonel Milorad Prelević, design engineer Sreten Đorđević, and brand ‘Simpo’ from Vranje was engaged for interior.
  • On initiative and suggestion of the Association and Belgrade parliament, monument to Grecian revolutionist and poet Riga from Fera has been revealed in Belgrade on 14th of May in 1944, likewise, Tower Nebojša was renewed in which Riga and his teammates were captivated.
  • On Rajac, historical mountain from famous Battle of Kolubara, city parliament and our subsidiary from Ljig have posted foundation stone for construction of “Grecian house” which should be sign of thankfulness for opening of “Serbian house” on Corfu.
  • During his efficacy, Association in cooperation with jewelry manufacturer “Zlatara Majdanpek” and with institute for production of commercial papers has made many symbols: medals, plaques, gold coins, medallions, statuettes, badges and so on.
  • In cooperation with label PGP-RTB, Association published video and audio cassette “Oj Srbijo, mila mati”.
  • Together with center “Sava”, Museum of Belgrade city, Parliament of Belgrade city, Home of syndicates, with Home of youth, theaters, national university Kolarac and others, Association has organized many gala academies, thematic performances, lectures, poetic evenings and promotions, expositions as well as festival of documentary movies from WWI and many other actions such are these.
  • Within 1994, Association has established “Decoration of Serbian warrior”, work of sculptor Dragan Mileusnić.
  • Book “Big days of Serbia 1914-1918” has been published. Adam Stošić, president of the Association subsidiary from Kruševac.
  • On the occasion of 200th anniversary from the death of Riga from Fera, bas-relief was posted on Tower Nebojša.
  • Broken stone plates in mausoleum on island Vido were renewed.
  • Monument to Drina division in Agios Matheos was renewed.
  • Restoration of memorial drinking fountain of Drina division was done in Agios Matheos.
  • Subsidiary from Valjevo with financial help of Mr. Vidoje Vujić has participated in restoration of Serbian military graveyard in their city.
  • Bust to King Peter the 1st was posted in playground of school for pupils with defective eyesight in Zemun.
